This book starts out by naming the date and location of Georgia O'Keefe's birth, and it doesn't get much better from there. Its pretty straight forward informational and not very engaging in its writing. I love O'Keefe and wish it was able to capture how exciting her artwork is.

I am an art teacher at an elementary school and this book was a great introduction to Georgia O'Keeffe. The story was simple enough for the kids to remain engaged, and the best part was that the focus was not mainly on the flowers that look like female genitalia. There was a lot of focus on the artwork she did based on the skulls of dead animals, which is much easier to explain to kindergarteners than vaginas.

I bought this for a 9 year old girl who is interested in art. It's a good book to help inspire a young person to follow their own dreams and be the person they really are. It's especially inspirational for young artists who may not fit into the pattern society expects them to follow.

I use this in a 4-H artist study and it has been a great way to introduce youth to Georgia O’Keeffe before they try their hand at making art inspired by her.

Our very favorite book. Georgia is portrayed as a girl and woman who follows her own will and her own dreams. The words and illustrations are just beautiful. I wish there were more children-directed biographies like this on the market because this one is inspiring.

My six year old daughter loves this book. I like the style of writing and the way the story is told. There's not too much detail, but enough to keep a young reader's interest piqued. The illustrations are evocative of the subject without being literal. Good for young children exploring art and artists.

Great book for elementary students. Perfect length and good info on Georgia. Beautiful artwork.
